Tyler accepted PEAK’s invitation to join the pro-team at age 15. He has been fly fishing since he was old enough to go along in a child backpack and started fly casting and fly tying at the age three. He landed his first fly caught trout shortly thereafter. He is a member of the Ross, Scientific Anglers, Simms, PEAK Fishing, Eumer, Dr Slick and Whiting Farms pro teams. Tyler is Umpqua Feather Merchant’s youngest signature fly designer. Hobie Kayaks appointed him their Youth Fishing Ambassador and he was honored to be a member of the 2012/2013 USA Youth Fly Fishing Team. He presents many fly-fishing programs at numerous shows nationwide. Feature articles about Tyler have appeared in most major fly fishing and fly-tying magazines in the US and internationally. He has fished the Rocky Mountain region extensively for trout and warmwater species. His fly-fishing travels in search of some of the best fly fishing are extensive and include Japan for Yamame, Iwanna and Japanese sea bass. Tyler has authored two books; A Kids Guide to Fly Tying and A Kid’s Guide to Fly Fishing. He recently completed a fly-fishing instructional DVD for kids. He holds I.G.F.A. Junior World Records for sheefish and kokanee. Other interests include hunting, competitive swimming, piano, photography and drawing. This dynamic angler lives in Midland, MI with his mom, dad and three younger sisters.
