Chris is originally from the suburbs of New York and moved to Vermont for college in 1995. The Green Mountains have been his home ever since. In 2004 Chris co-founded the Green Mountain Troutfitters fly shop & guide service in Jeffersonville, VT. He has kept the business on a successful path by filling gaps and capitalizing on industry trends. Green Mountain Troutfitters sells 100% locally-tied flies at their shop and on their website www.gmtrout.com. Chris is the founder of one of the largest youth fly fishing camps in the country, Green Mountain Fly Fishing Camps, www.gmffc.com. This highly in-demand camp fills almost a year in advance and has hosted kids from all over the world! In 2010, Chris co-founded a non-profit, catch-photo-release fly fishing tournament on Lake Champlain called the Ditch Pickle Classic, www.fishthepickle.com. The Pickle is one of the largest events of its kind with anglers coming from all over New England and beyond to take part. All proceeds are donated to local charities and/or conservation initiatives. Chris is no stranger to fisheries conservation, having spearheaded several projects to enhance and/or restore vegetative riparian zones along Vermont’s rivers and streams.
