Chris Mortier
Ontario - Canada
Trained as a Paramedic in Ontario, Chris began flyfishing and tying flies in 2002 as a form of relaxation from the hectic world of EMS. He credits his success to the guidance and mentoring of local fly shop owner Jay Newell and guide/author Ian Colin James . Chris was an early adopter of spey fishing in SW Ontario and loves to feel the tug of a swung fly. From basic wooly bugger beginnings he is now co-owner of Predator Fly Company where he makes custom flies for muskie, pike, steelhead, taimen, and tarpon. Chris is a member of Muskies Canada and contributed to the short film about chasing muskie on the fly called “The Pursuit” which played at IF4 venues across North America. His passion is chasing large fish on the fly so when he is not fishing for muskie, he can be found swinging for steelhead in Ontario or casting to the silver kings of the south. He can be reached at Predatorflycompany@gmail.com.
