Ted lives in Middle Sackville, Nova Scotia just outside of Halifax. His love for angling started at a very early age fishing from his Grandfather’s boats for Mackerel and on local rivers where they would cut alder branches to fish for brook trout. Those are Ted’s earliest memories of fishing. During high school he worked in the oil camps of Alberta and British Columbia and fished nearby rivers and streams for Pacific salmon, rainbow trout, and Dollies. Upon returning to Nova Scotia, Ted fished for bass, pickerel, brook trout, rainbows and any other species he could locate. After spending time in Alaska, he returned and focused on kayak fishing with Team eXstream, a local group that promotes fishing, kayaking and aquaculture. Team eXtream are active videographers posting videos on Youtube and Facebook. Ted is a member of the Gaspe Fly Company, Hardy Fishing and Pure Fishing pro teams. He is the Owner/Operator of TKF (Ted’s Kustom Flies). He is heavily involved with local tying groups and fly-fishing shops in his area and often can be found demonstrating, educating and encouraging local anglers and fly tiers.
